Drivers With Dogs Already Stop at Your Forecourt
Drezen builds automatic dog washing machines for gas stations, travel centers and truck stops, where drivers already arrive with a dog in the back seat. Some have been on the road for hours. Others walk the dog at your pet relief area and come back with muddy paws.
Self-serve dog washing machines for gas stations work the way your pumps already do: the driver pays on the screen and runs the service. We build two models for it, the SE-2025A and the FA-2025A.
Your site already runs long hours, takes card payment at the pump and in the store, and works with a small team and no one on the forecourt. A dog wash sits beside that routine. The driver picks a program for a short, medium or long coat, and the machine runs the wash, rinse and 360° warm-air dry. After the dog leaves, ozone, ozonated water and UV sanitize the empty washing chamber (how the empty chamber is sanitized between dogs). For other site types, see other sites where operators install a dog wash.
Self-Serve Dog Washing Machines for Gas Stations: Four Reasons They Fit
Four things about a fuel stop make it a practical place for a dog wash.
Open as Long as Your Pumps
If your pumps run all night, the dog wash can too. The backend supports 24-hour unattended operation, and the FA-2025A operates 24/7 as a self-service machine with no staff or appointments. You set opening hours in the backend (on the FA-2025A, through the optional smart management backend), so the wash follows store hours or pump hours. Internal lighting keeps the chamber lit after dark.
Payment Drivers Expect at the Pump
Drivers who pay by card at the pump can pay by card here too. POS cashless payment on the touchscreen is standard on both models. A card terminal, a banknote acceptor and third-party online payment are add-ons for either model. Flexible payments come standard on the SE-2025A and as an option on the FA-2025A. See touchscreen payment and backend options.
A Wash That Fits a Longer Stop
A fill-up is a short stop. A full wash and dry takes 20 to 30 minutes on average, so the dog wash belongs to the longer ones: a meal, a rest break, a truck driver's break or an EV charging session. The driver stays with the dog, and the large window keeps it in view. On the FA-2025A, the interaction window lets the owner reach in.
What It Needs at the Edge of the Lot
The SE-2025A measures 1880 × 1430 mm at the base; the FA-2025A measures 1100 × 1100 mm and stands 2134 mm high. Each connects to water, drainage and power only. The galvanized steel body has an anti-rust, scratch-resistant treatment and a high-strength outdoor coating, with IP65-rated core components. Placement keeps it away from the pumps and vehicle lanes.
Payment and Hours by Site Type
| Site type | Who stops with a dog | Payment set-up to consider | Hours to decide | Where to look first |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Highway travel center | Drivers on a long trip, stopping for a meal or a rest | POS cashless; card terminal add-on | Around the clock or store hours | A: beside the pet relief area |
| Truck stop | Truck drivers who travel with a dog, on a longer break | POS cashless; card terminal add-on | Around the clock | B: beside the parking bays |
| Neighborhood station with a convenience store | Local drivers and regular store customers | POS cashless; session packages or coupons for regulars | Store hours or longer | C: beside the store |
| Station with a car wash bay | Drivers who are already washing the car | POS cashless; banknote acceptor add-on for cash customers | Store hours or car wash hours | B or C; see stations that also run a car wash |
| Site with EV chargers | Drivers waiting for a charge | POS cashless; third-party online payment add-on | Charger hours | B: beside the EV chargers |
What Shapes the Return on a Forecourt Dog Wash
The dog wash belongs where drivers already walk with their dogs, between the parking and the store or the pet relief area. It stays outside the areas around the fuel equipment and out of the vehicle lanes.
A
Beside the Pet Relief Area
Drivers already finish the walk here, so the wash is the next step, not a detour. The machine works indoors and outdoors and is adaptable to hot and humid climates; a protective outer cabinet is available as an option. It needs a level concrete base and a drain point within reach of the 3 m drain hose. For sites with freezing winters, ask us about the operating temperature range before you order.
B
Beside the Parking Bays or EV Chargers
Drivers who park for a meal, a break or a charge have time for a full cycle. Protect the machine from vehicles with bollards or a curb, and keep the walking route from the parked car clear of the fuel lanes. If your station also runs a car wash, the same checks apply beside it.
C
Beside the Convenience Store
The store usually has the shortest run to water, drainage and power, and its Wi-Fi may reach the machine (4G is built in if not). Drivers walk past it on the way in. Check the FA-2025A's 2134 mm height against any canopy edge or overhang above the position.
Keep clear of
Fuel dispensers, underground tank fill points, vent pipes, vehicle lanes and the car wash queue. Local fire and fuel-site rules define the areas around fuel equipment, and the authority having jurisdiction, your fuel brand, your landlord and your insurer confirm the final position. This is a site check, not legal advice.

What Shapes the Return on a Forecourt Dog Wash
We don’t publish wash counts or earnings, because they depend on your site. These four inputs decide the result, and every one of them is your own estimate.
01
Drivers With Dogs per Day
Start with how many drivers already stop with a dog. Your store team sees them every shift, and a short count over a fe
02
Your Opening Hours
You set the hours in the backend (on the FA-2025A, through the optional smart management backend). The 20 to 30 minute average cycle sets the ceiling: at most two or three washes per hour, which is an assumption to test against your own hours.
03
Your Price per Wash
You set the price per wash in the backend, and you know what drivers pay for other services on your site. Card processing fees come out of each wash, on top of the running costs below.
04
Store Visits Before or After the Wash
Some drivers may visit the store before or after the wash. Whether that adds inside sales is your call to estimate, not ours. Leave it out of your first projection and treat it as upside.
Running costs per wash, at your local rates
- Water: about 40 to 50 L, times your local water rate
- Electricity: about 1.5 kWh, times your local power rate
- Shampoo and conditioner: roughly 30 ml
- Card fees: at your processor's rate

Concerns Station Operators Raise Before Ordering
Will Drivers Wait 20 to 30 Minutes?
Not every driver will. A full wash and dry takes 20 to 30 minutes on average, and we won’t promise a shorter cycle; you set each program’s length in the backend, but a dog still needs time to dry. That is why the machine fits the longer stops, not a quick fill-up. Not every dog accepts a dog washing machine on its first visit, and on the SE-2025A the driver can switch to manual at any time. Matted coats still need a groomer.
Is It Safe on a Fuel Site?
The electrical protection is specific: three RCBO devices for leakage and overload protection, leakage detection with automatic power-off, grounding for high-power circuits and IP65-rated core components. A physical and on-screen emergency stop opens the door automatically. Drezen machines are CE certified and tested to UL 60335-1. We do not publish a rating for use inside the areas around fuel equipment, so the machine stands outside them, as your local fire and fuel-site rules define them. Confirm the position with the authority having jurisdiction and your insurer.
Who Looks After It With a Small Team?
The routine job is a refill and hygiene check about every two weeks, when someone tops up the five 5 L shampoo and conditioner tanks and checks the machine runs normally. There is no scheduled component replacement. Wash data shows in the backend, and shampoo comes from a local supplier or our own shampoo factory. The 12-month warranty replaces parts that fail from a manufacturing defect with original factory parts, and our technical team supports you online, 24/7, for the life of the machine, with free software upgrades. Gas Station Dog Wash FAQ
Can the dog wash stand outdoors on our lot all year?
It works indoors and outdoors and is adaptable to hot and humid climates. The galvanized steel body has an anti-rust, scratch-resistant treatment and a high-strength outdoor coating, and the core components are IP65-rated, which means sealed against dust and water jets. A protective outer cabinet is available as an option. If your winters freeze, ask us about the operating temperature range before you order.
Can drivers at our station pay by card or cash?
Yes, with the right set-up. POS cashless payment on the touchscreen is standard on both models. For cards, add a card payment terminal; for cash, add a banknote acceptor. Both add-ons fit either model, as does third-party online payment. Flexible payments are standard on the SE-2025A and optional on the FA-2025A. The machine does not take coins.
Will a truck driver's large dog fit in the washing chamber?
Both models accommodate full-sized dogs, with no weight restriction. The FA-2025A washing chamber measures 535 × 820 × 870 mm. The large window keeps the dog in the driver’s view, and on the FA-2025A the interaction window lets the driver reach in. Send us the breeds you expect and we will check the fit.
Can travelers from other countries use the screen at our station?
Yes. The 21.5-inch touchscreen has a multilingual interface, and the languages can be customized when you order. Tell us which languages your drivers speak and we will set them up before the machine ships.
